About the weather and a BIG Thank you

It is not Thanksgiving after all - although one might think it could be if you look at the weather out here. It turned from rainy summer days to cold and rainy autumn. Having lived abroad for so long and away from Northern Germany I nearly forgot about the temperature and the rainfall here.

A Thank You is for all the sweet people who left a comment on the last posts. It is so good to know you are out there! 

Due to the weather (pouring rain most of the time) we stayed indoors a lot more and we had a quite time because the oldest is away on a Friesian island with his classmates. So we had more time just the three of us and did some paperwork and railway construction

 

And then we decided not to be beaten by bad weather and prepared to go outdoors. Believe it or not : some rays of sun greeted us together with some goose around the corner of our house. And then I thought: ok, this is proof again to kick your ass sometimes and move out of the comfort zone. And how we are really blessed: We are living peacefully in a house in the middle of a beautiful town and have a small river and a park and green scenery at the front door at the same time.

And I thought that I am sometimes very unfair to Germany. I would love to have all this transferred to Great Britain to be honest. Not only because of the language (me, absolutely adoring the British accent...) But really - Germany is not that bad after all. I just miss the better weather of Istanbul and Mexico... It is such a difference waking up in the morning with rays of sunlight!

But enough moaning! We had a lovely time outside and brought so many things back home to sort for the children.

Are you also reliant on good weather to be in a good mood? Or are you anyhow living where the sun is shining almost every day? I am really a moaner when it is raining. Because you cannot always sit on the sofa with my knitting needles or the crochet hook, drink tea or read. Well I definitely could but go tell our children...
