By the end of this week we will be living in the new house for a year. When I see the old pictures and think of the process of the furniture and box-delivery from the removal company it still gives me the shivers. The house has been redecorated and partly renovated and now you can already see me running around with leftover paint post and filling the dark spaces in the white laquered doors and stairway rails. This is the downside of freshly renovating with having three active children in the house. Markus sometimes points out it could also be because of me moving furniture around and such but I strictly deny this!
A couple of weeks ago we decided to move my studio into Moritz room and give him my sunlit studio. He is such a sensitive guy, reacting to temperature and light that we thought he would be so much happier there. The room that was my studio is facing South and our garden. I loved to be in there but I had to admit that I mostly spent time there in the evenings with lights on. So no need in occupying the space during the day.
When the decision was made I could hardly wait for Moritz to start his Autumn holiday. Pauline and he flew to see the grandparents at Lake Contance for a week - enough time for the task. I started the night before I took them to the airport, telling him I wanted to remove things to install new curtain rods. So off they flew and the fun began
And I promised myself (and Markus) not to only declutter a bit but also sort through all the boxes and files that go through my hand. That really meant an effort but I saw no use in just rearranging unsorted things this time.
Of couse I threw away things I should have thrown out 2 movings before when still in Isanbul. Well, yes, I am a hoarder and a collecter and you may never know when a certain thing might come in handy...
The intermediate result makes me smile already:
The children came back and Moritz was sos so happy. He loves his room now and I see them playing boardgames every day on the floor instead of in the living room. Now he really uses his room and I am so happy we made the effort!
There are still some small projects on the go for his room but I'll save them for upcoming Christmas.
Looks great Yvonne and I love your craft space! Im going to be tackling mine the next couple of weeks and doing a lot of changes to it. Hopefully I can get more inspired and off the floor ahha.
