people who followed my photostream know that I love Istanbul. I loved to live there. Yesterday my friend Sabine told me that she was leaving as well. So i thought i upload some favs to describe how I lived back then. We had a Bosporus view that was amazing and that is the best thing that can happen to you whilst living in istanbul. We had wonderful neighbours and the best kindergarten. I think our special affection for Istanbul is not only the beautiful city but also the history of uour family. We Moved there when Moritz was a few months old and Pauline and Jakob were both born there. So our stay in Istanbul is also the beginning of our marriage and family life.
the people were amazing and embraced families with children. I always felt welcomed and i enjoyed the mixture of the beautiful scenery, the old historical town and the huge and so very modern big city. I also started crafting there. You could go directly to the wholesellers there to buy the most amazing fabric and trims. Turkey is one of the European hotspots for producing fabric and clothes so the markets were a dream come true! My fabric dealer joked one day: if we are ever running out of fabric we can come to Yvonne's house to use her stock...
So I am a bit melancholic today thinking of all the people I know there and two of them are leaving now or already left - expat life... but I am so thankful that I was able to spend 5 wonderful years there with loved ones. And: it will be always there for me, waiting!

I love your "stories" and I'm sure you miss Istanbul. I've never been there, not even close, but your stories are so inspirational that I think I have to visit that city someday :).
