Finally there was some sun and I took out the camera to capture it. I like it so much more when the sun is shining (although the dust shows then dramatically...). What I love in rooms is when you have windows on both sides of it. We have North and South facing windows in one room and that makes such a difference. So whilst sitting in the North we have the sun.
And it looks peaceful although most of the time it is like a storm in here with three children from 3 to 6 running around, fighting and yelling. but I wont show you that, you might know it from your home already and this is a place to just look, isn't it?
And then there are books and mags:
If you like to be at home and like to cook and to craft and to enjoy things made by yourself for your family and friends, then read this: The gentle Art of Domesticity It is so wonderful and I cannot get enough of it. Not only is the layout and the typesetting great and so well chosen but you really have to read it to say "Yes" and "yes, I totally agree" all the time. Domesticity as an Art - cannot tell you how happy and grateful I am that I was able to chose this form of pasttime for the last seven years. it was of course due to three children and living abroad but also because of my wonderful husband...
And there was time for this:
I finally managed to get more shelves done in my study. I covered boxes, sorted out and rearranged. the helpers were wonderful papers that were hidden for so long in my drawers. And I got these cute little tags from letteria. just go and look at her shop - she sells the finest printed goodies!
And the cute little mouse from Jennifer Murphy was there for Valentine's day and now shares a shelf front with my Virgin of Guadelupe-heart from Mexico.
These are the things that make me smile when I look at it.
And not to be forgotten: the bear sitting next to my collection of ink pads and a cute little vintage inspired metal box. The bear is from yo*ko and I fell in love immediately. Now he is wandering around between my things and still looking for the perfect place
The tour ends here - there is more cleaning up to be one before showing you around again - see you!
Gosh! You really are the Queen of organisation Yvonne :) A girl after my own heart I have to say. Love all the colours and pretty prints you use.
I would like find a copy of the book 'The gentle Art of Domesticity' It sounds lovely.
