Dear readers, I know - it has been long since we last met: There was a lot to do and I have been busy at home and with paper, scissors, fabric and wool. I was longing to produce a lot of crafty things and neglected my cyber-life terribly.I was reading a lot and wanted to stay in touch but was not in a "computer-mood"
And then there was a happy 5-year-Birthday to be celebrated in Robin-Hood fashion that bundled a lot of my energy as well.
Our cute little Robin Hood got the cake he wished for with a Pink 5 on top, had his forest friends invited and his beloved Maid Marian was also present...
I love organizing these things and planning, baking cakes and decorating the house but it also drives me crazy the days before to handle three children plus the party.
But we had a lovely time and they had a gold hunt in the snow and some bow-and arrow-games as well to make them feel like being in Sherwood forest.
To stay sane during these bustling times I had to sew, crochet and make some new collages for the shop.
I just love small fluffy cushions together with big ones to add some colour and accents to a room. So I made a few and will be adding them to the shop over the next days. Hope they will find their way into cozy new rooms!
And when I am in a creative swing I cannot resist to make some Istanbul collages.
But this time there is something different: Some of them may look familiar but there is no oriental element in them but a very Northern German one. I finally managed to start a new series: Lueneburg small town collages. This is just a start and I think they may be altered over the time but I like the idea of the recurrent theme.
And there was a lot of crocheting late in the evenings. Not that my husband was totally amused having the needle clicking wife at his side all the time. What came out of all this nightwork will be shown next week .
I am happy to be back in touch and hope to get this blog thing working now. And when I am patient enough I amgoing to produce and upload a new banner for the blog and the shop. maybe somebody can tell me where to go to have one custom made - it would be most helpful!
Wishing you a wonderful start of the week!
Yvonne

Happy you are back. I'm enjoying your blog a lot!

The funniest thing to me: the tiger slippers on the Robyn Hood! Love this entry. From your other birthday posts I got an idea that a baby's birthday does not have to be focused around commercially available characters for success. So our first birthday was just plain celebration. Hope to get it to your class

Dear Yvonne,
I just loved your collages! As an istanbuller, you are brilliant in creativity..
I am so happy to read back from you and seems Jacob had a very lucky birthday that I envied. Mine will be next sunday and will surely not be in Sherwood.
I will be looking at Tarabya woods for you.
Hope everything is well with you.
Love,
b
